<br />This budget amendment provides for the receipt of these deferred revenues. (See <br />Attachment 1, column 6) <br /> <br />SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: There is no Orange County Social Justice Goal impact <br />associated with this item. <br /> <br />Department on Aging <br /> <br />7. The Department on Aging has deferred revenue for the following programs: <br /> <br />• Carol Woods Donation – As of June 30, 2019, the department has $163,864 in <br />deferred revenue, for use in FY 2019-20, related to the Carol Woods Donation. <br />These funds will used for Master Aging Plan Initiatives. <br />• Senior Health Insurance and Information Program (SHIIP) – As of June 30, <br />2019, the department had received SHIIP Funds of $6,010. These funds have <br />been earmarked as deferred revenue for use in FY 2019-20. <br />• Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act (MIPPA) – As of June <br />30, 2019, the department had $4,496 in deferred revenue, for use in FY 2019-20, <br />related to the MIPPA grant. <br /> <br />This budget amendment provides for the receipt of these deferred revenues. (See <br />Attachment 1, column 7) <br /> <br />SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goals are <br />applicable to this item: <br />• GOAL: CREATE A SAFE COMMUNITY <br />The reduction of risks from vehicle/traffic accidents, childhood and senior injuries, <br />gang activity, substance abuse and domestic violence. <br />• GOAL: ENSURE ECONOMIC SELF-SUFFICIENCY <br />The creation and preservation of infrastructure, policies, programs and funding <br />necessary for residents to provide shelter, food, clothing and medical care for <br />themselves and their dependents. <br /> <br />Community Relations <br /> <br />8. The Community Relations Department has taken over the responsibility of the <br />administration and operations of the Veterans Memorial project located at the Southern <br />Campus in Chapel Hill. The Veterans Memorial project is set up in the County Capital <br />Projects Fund for the construction and landscaping components of the Memorial, but <br />there are incidental operational supplies that are needed occasionally as well. This <br />budget amendment provides for the receipt of available Community Giving Funds of <br />$3,000 in order to fund necessary non-capital related expenditures within the Community <br />Relations Department related to the Veterans Memorial project. (See Attachment 1, <br />column 8) <br /> <br />SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: There is no Orange County Social Justice Goal impact <br />associated with this item. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />6
