16 <br /> David Stancil made the following PowerPoint presentation for all three items (4-d, e, f) <br /> Windy Hill Farm (Gledhill) <br /> Spring Crest Farm (Woods) <br /> Holden-Roberts Farm (Anderson) <br /> June 4, 2019 <br /> Windy Hill Farm Conservation Easement <br /> Carr Store Road <br /> Photos of land <br /> Funding Partners: <br /> $ 65,700 (44%) Orange County (Lands Legacy) <br /> $ 15,000 (10%) Eno River Association <br /> $ 39,655 (26%) NC ADFP Trust Fund Grant <br /> $ 29,400 (20%) Landowner donation (Gledhill family) <br /> $149,755 (100%) Total Easement <br /> Commissioner Bedford read the resolution: (after the motion after Item 4-f) <br /> ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS RESOLUTION <br /> Approval of Conservation Easement <br /> between <br /> Orange County and the Eno River Association <br /> and <br /> Jane Gledhill <br /> WHEREAS, Orange County has adopted goals that promote the preservation of natural areas, <br /> wildlife habitat, prime farmland, and open space in the County; and <br /> WHEREAS, Orange County established the Lands Legacy Program for the purpose of <br /> protecting the most significant natural and cultural resources through partnerships with <br /> landowners and other conservation entities; and <br /> WHEREAS, one component of the Lands Legacy Program is the acquisition of conservation <br /> easements on prime farmland within water supply watersheds; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Cedar Grove Windy Hill Farm property includes approximately 39 acres in the <br /> Upper Eno protected watershed, consisting of a majority of prime agricultural soils, and includes <br /> 500 linear feet of stream buffer to a tributary that drains to Lake Orange — a drinking water <br /> supply reservoir for the Town of Hillsborough; and <br /> WHEREAS, Jane Gledhill, the owner of the Cedar Grove Windy Hill Farm property, wishes to <br /> grant a permanent conservation easement to Orange County and the Eno River Association, <br /> which will protect the prime farmland and riparian corridors that exist on the property; and <br />
