1 <br /> 1 Attachment 1 <br /> 2 <br /> 3 DRAFT <br /> 4 MINUTES <br /> 5 BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> 6 REGULAR MEETING <br /> 7 June 4, 2019 <br /> 8 7:00 p.m. <br /> 9 <br /> 10 The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in regular session on Tuesday, June 4, <br /> 11 2019 at 7:00 p.m. at the Whitted Human Services Center in Hillsborough, N.C. <br /> 12 <br /> 13 COUNTY COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chair Penny Rich and Commissioners Jamezetta <br /> 14 Bedford, Mark Dorosin, Sally Greene, Earl McKee, Mark Marcoplos, and Renee Price <br /> 15 COUNTY COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: None <br /> 16 COUNTY ATTORNEYS PRESENT: John Roberts <br /> 17 COUNTY STAFF PRESENT: County Manager Bonnie Hammersley, Deputy County Manager <br /> 18 Travis Myren, and Clerk to the Board Donna Baker (All other staff members will be identified <br /> 19 appropriately below.) <br /> 20 <br /> 21 Chair Rich called the meeting to order at 7:01 p.m. <br /> 22 <br /> 23 1. Additions or Changes to the Agenda <br /> 24 <br /> 25 Chair Rich noted the following items at the Commissioners' places: <br /> 26 - PowerPoint for Item 4-c Voluntary Agricultural Districts <br /> 27 - PowerPoint (one PowerPoint) for Items 4-d, e, f <br /> 28 - PowerPoint for Item 5-c <br /> 29 - PowerPoint for Item 6-a <br /> 30 <br /> 31 Chair Rich said she received a request to move 8-f forward to after item 4-b. <br /> 32 <br /> 33 A motion was made by Commissioner McKee, seconded by Commissioner <br /> 34 Marcoplos to move item 8-f up to after item 4-b because the property is in attendance. <br /> 35 <br /> 36 VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br /> 37 <br /> 38 PUBLIC CHARGE <br /> 39 Chair Rich acknowledged the public charge. <br /> 40 <br /> 41 Arts Moment <br /> 42 Tinka Jordy, Arts Commission member, introduced the artist: <br /> 43 <br /> 44 Dee Stribling is a poet focusing on culture and landscape. Her poems are tributes to friends and <br /> 45 places embodying the strength, struggle, and beauty of rural and small town settings. The <br /> 46 author of several poetry chapbooks, recent publications include poetry in this spring's edition of <br /> 47 NC Coastwatch. In addition to poetry, she's currently working on a memoir about her childhood, <br /> 48 a documentary about a very special softball team, and a children's book. She enjoys mixing up <br /> 49 a Ph.D. in Geography, and 30+ years at SAS Software with a passion for helping others find <br /> 50 their poetry and writing path. <br />
