6 1 2 VOTE: UNANIMOUS 3 4 b. Proclamation Recognizing the East Chapel Hill High School Women's Soccer 5 Team for Winning the 2019 State 3A Championship 6 The Board considered voting to approve a Proclamation Recognizing the East Chapel 7 Hill High School Women's Soccer Team for winning the 2019 State 3A Championship and 8 authorize the Chair to sign. 9 10 Todd McGee, Community Relations Director, said Coach Collins could not attend due to 11 being out of town. He read the proclamation: 12 13 ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS 14 PROCLAMATION OF RECOGNITION ON 15 EAST CHAPEL HILL HIGH SCHOOL WOMEN'S SOCCER TEAM WINNING THE 2019 16 STATE 3A CHAMPIONSHIP 17 18 WHEREAS, the East Chapel Hill High School Women's Soccer Team captured the North 19 Carolina High School Athletic Association's State 3A Championship; and 20 21 WHEREAS, under the guidance of Coach Austin Collins, the Wildcats compiled a sterling 22 record of 20-2-2 and 13-1 in the Big 3A Conference; and 23 24 WHEREAS, the East Chapel Hill Women's Soccer program has won four state titles in school 25 history, in 1998, 2000 and 2004 prior to this season; and 26 27 WHEREAS, through their hard work, dedication, teamwork and commitment, the team and 28 Coach Collins brought honor upon themselves, East Chapel Hill High School, the 29 Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools District and Orange County; 30 31 NOW, THEREFORE, be it proclaimed that the Orange County Board of Commissioners 32 expresses its sincere appreciation and respect to the East Chapel Hill High 33 School Women's Soccer Team for their outstanding achievement and their 34 inspiration to youth across North Carolina through their dedication, teamwork and 35 athletic prowess. 36 37 This the 181" day of June 2019. 38 39 A motion was made by Commissioner Bedford, seconded by Commissioner Price for the 40 Board to approve and authorize the Chair to sign the proclamation recognizing the East Chapel 41 Hill High School Wildcats Women's Soccer Team for winning the 2019 State 3A Championship 42 and honoring the players and coaches for representing the community with the highest ideals of 43 sportsmanship and integrity. 44 45 VOTE: UNANIMOUS 46 47 Chair Rich asked that the Board consider moving up Item 8-t since Delores Bailey from 48 EmPOWERment was here to speak on that item, and to not make her wait until the end of the 49 meeting. 50 51 The Board agreed by consensus.
