A list of potential legislative items was initially developed by the Legislative Issues Task <br />Force and was previously provided to the BOCC. Those items have been further reviewed and <br />refined by the Task Force and compiled into draft resolutions and proposed bills for Board <br />review. <br />Members of the Board are scheduled to meet with Orange County's legislative delegation to <br />discuss various legislative items an March 12, 2001. The Board needs to hold the public <br />hearing on the potential legislative items in preparation for presenting its proposals to the <br />delegation for consideration during the 2001 General Assembly Session. <br />After the public hearing, the Board will need to review and consider approval as necessary of <br />the resolutions, proposed bills, and other materials as developed by staff and the County <br />Attorney (provided via separate cover). This will allow those items to be delivered in final form <br />to Orange County's legislative delegation and to the bill drafting division of the General <br />Assembly. The local bill introduction deadline is March 14, 2001 and the public bill introduction <br />deadline is March 28, 2001. <br />
