<br />The Orange Covrrty Hoard of Commissioners met 1n ad3ourned session on Monday, Jnly 13, 1959, at
<br />ten o~ciock a,m.
<br />Members presents Chairman R. J. M. Hobbs, Commissioners Clarence Jonas, Donald McDade, Donald
<br />Stanford sad Remy Walker.

<br />T. A. Hurton, L. H. Cuntar and C, I. Walters, sepreseatativse of the State Highway Commission,
<br />were present. The purpose of this meeting was to approve the 9econdard Hoad Plan for the coming
<br />fiscal year. Aftor a lenghty discueaio¢ of this plan Commissioner Walker moved that said plan be
<br />accepted, Commissioner McDade sacoaded the motion, end n,=~*+.a* Hobbs called for a votes. there were
<br />k ayes and 0 Hayes.
<br />F. L. Fuller of Durham presented a road petition to the Board. This petition lacked the
<br />signature of two property ovmers. T. A• Hurto¢ suggested this petition be approved and mailed to
<br />the State Highway Canmisaioa in its present form. Upon motion oS Commissioner Stanford, seconded
<br />by Commissioner Joaess'.tha.Clerk wsa requested to forward the Fuller petition to the Higbway
<br />Commission. Chairman Hobbs called for a vote and there sere 4 ayes and O aayea.
<br />0. D. Garvin, District Health Officers came before the Hoard to request they appropriate
<br />fund to buy polio vaccine far all parsons between the ages of b thru 20 who are unable to pay a
<br />physician for such vaccine. The Board was in sympathy with this request but that Dr. Garvin
<br />first trp to secure these funds from the local March of Dimes Organiaatioa.
<br />The aub~ect of Snsurance on County property was brought to the attention of the Board by
<br />the County Accountant. After a discnsaio¢ it was moved by Coamdseloaer Walker and eaconded b9
<br />Commissioner Joasa that the total coverage be increased by, ~100s000.00.
<br />Mra. Georgia Nevinas County LSbraiiaas appeared to discuss the library budget. She
<br />presented the following namae for appointment to the Library Hoard.
