Petition letters & Secondary Road Addition <br />Investigation Reports for Fox Hill Farm Roads: <br />Country Air Lane, Butterfly Place, Fernleaf Place, <br />N. Highbranch Way, S. Highbranch Way <br />PURPOSE: To consider two petitions to add subdivision roads to the state-maintained Secondary <br />Road System, <br />BACKGROUND: Churton Grove Planned Development, Phase II: The Developer of Churton <br />Grove Planned Development has petitioned the North Carolina Department of Transportation <br />(NCDOT) to accept maintenance responsibilities fora 0.26-mile extension of Churton Grove <br />Boulevard (4 homes), Ainsworth Drive (31 homes), East Bromfield Drive (5 homes), West Bromfield <br />Drive (9 homes), Hadfield Street (2 homes), and Cavell Court (18 homes). The roads were platted <br />in Phase II of the planned development. Churton Grove is located on the north side of St, Mary's <br />Road in Hillsborough and Eno Townships, Churton Grave was approved by the Board in May 1986 <br />and the Special Use Permit for the Planned Development became active in March 1998, <br />Fox Hill Farm -East Phase 2 Sections A & B: Thedeveloper of Fox Hill Farm -East has petitioned <br />NCDOT to accept maintenance responsibilities for Country Air Lane (2 homes), Butterfly Place (6 <br />homes), Fernleaf Place (5 homes), North Highbranch Way (9 homes) and South Highbranch Way <br />(10 homes), Fox Hill Farm -East Phase 2 is located on the east side of New Sharon Church <br />Road, Eno Township, The Board approved the preliminary plat for Fox Hill Farm -East Phase 2 <br />Section A & B in June 2000. <br />NCDOT has investigated these requests (please refer to attached Secondary Road Addition <br />Reports), and has submitted these petitions to the Board of Commissioners for its review and <br />approval. The Board must take an administrative action to approve the petition to NCDOT in order <br />for NCDOT to add to the State Secondary Road System, and accept maintenance responsibilities <br />for those roads. <br />
