Excerpt of the Chapel Hill Code of Ordinances ARTICLE IX. LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES Sec. 2-140. Created; named. There is hereby created a library board of trustees for the Town of Chapel Hill, (Ord. No, 0-80-32B, 5-26-80) Sec. 2-141. Membership; terms. The library board of trustees shall consist of nine (9) appointed members as hereinafter provided, Their terms of office shall be four (4) years or until their successors are appointed and qualified. The terms of members appointed prior to May 1, 1980 shall be continued for the term of the original appointments. When such terms expire, the new terms shall be filed in accordazrce with this article. The terms of all members shall expire on .June 30kh. (Ord.. One (1) member shall be a resident of Orange County appointed by the Orange County Board of Commissioners.. Vacancies shall be filled in the same manner as original appointments. The librazy board of trustees shall regularly hold meetings at such times and places as it shall determine. Duties. [Duties of the library board of trustees shall be the following:] (a) Advise the council, town manager, and library director concerning all matters relating to the operation of a public library system for the town, taking into consideration the needs and attitudes of library users and staff.
