Project activities included pre-planning, sorting representative samples of the municipal
solid waste, analyzing the resulting data, preparing a final report that compared the results with
baseline data, and developing recommendations for further waste diversion.
r Resort-wide Waste Composition Audit,Confidential Theme Park, FL
Robin oversaw development and planning of a three-week waste composition audit. Robin
developed a two-phase approach to determine waste composition. Phase I was designed to sample
waste from over 80 dumpsters and compactors while Phase II was designed to pinpoint the
locations and practices where these wastes were generated. Under Robin's guidance, samples from
101 points were sorted and characterized. Results of Phase II identified specific locations and
practices to be targeted for further waste reduction and recycling activities. The resulting report
was highly praised by Park Executives and continues to be used in their waste reduction efforts.
Recyclables Composition Study, Private Processor, FL
Robin managed the planning and completion of a recyclables composition study for a private
processor. The study entailed pulling and sorting representative samples from loads of recyclables
delivered by four different cities. Data for each city was analyzed separately. Results were used to
modify formulas included in processing contracts with the communities used to calculate revenues
due to the cities.
➢ Waste Composition Study, Chatham County, NC
Robin managed the Chatham County waste characterization study of materials collected at the
county's twelve collection centers. The study included three generator sectors and project activities
included pre-planning, sorting representative samples of the municipal solid waste, conducting a
visual audit of the bulky waste, analyzing the resulting data, and preparing a final report that
compared the results with baseline data.
Robin has received the following industry awards:
• 2012 Recycler of the Year, Recycle Florida Today
• Federal Environmental Executive's "Closing the Circle Award," 1996,for work to enhance
government affirmative procurement
• U.S. EPA Bronze Medal, 1995, a team award for implementing the "Recycling Means Business"
program
• U.S. EPA Office of Solid Waste "Team Excellence Award," 1995, for work on the Recycling
Market Development Task Force and "Jobs Through Recycling" initiative
Prior Employment History:
• U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Region 4, Waste Reduction Specialist
kessler consulting inc.
Proposals 2018\Orange Co Proposal-final 25 innovative waste solutions
