During each study, 39 samples <br /> of recyclables were pulled and hand-sorted. Samples were obtained from all jurisdictions delivering <br /> recyclables to the MRF. The studies provided a breakdown, by percentage, of the individual types of <br /> materials and contaminants found in the recyclables <br /> stream. This information was used to calculate an <br /> updated average market value of the recyclable KCI has assisted with the <br /> material, as well as provide information to ECUA on procurement of equipment and an <br /> how it can improve its recycling program. Construction of the MRF was completed -_ <br /> in September 2016 and began operation in October <br /> 2016. With the assistance of KCI, ECUA was able to <br /> construct its MRF,from procurement to -' , <br /> j <br /> commissioning, in 11 months. KCI provided ongoing <br /> assistance after the MRF began operation, including overseeing the M R F performance testing in <br /> December 2016. KCI then conducted an RCS in July 2017 as part of the ongoing negotiations with the <br /> former MRF operator. KCI has recently been assisting ECUA in transitioning to operating the MRF <br /> themselves.
