How many loads per day does each program deliver in an average week? <br /> a. The average is three (3). However, our drop-off program delivers up to six(6) per day and <br /> commercial program delivers one per day(1). The median is two (2) loads per day. <br /> 2. Will the County be responsible for removing all excess and sorted material from the sorting location during <br /> the sort? <br /> a. Yes the County will remove all excess &sorted materials from the sorting pad during the sort. <br /> 3. Is it the County's expectation that the living wage policy apply to day laborers hired for the sorting crew? If <br /> so,this will increase the project cost. <br /> a. Please review the sample contract in the RFP. The County recommends but does not require <br /> Contractors provide a living wage. <br /> 4. On page 10,the proposal states, "This section of the Proposal has a minimum limit of 5 double sided <br /> pages." Is this meant to read a minimum of 5 double sided pages or a maximum limit of 5 double sided <br /> pages? D/CY <br /> a. Maximum limit of five (5) double-sided sheets (10 pages) <br /> 5. Section 5.1.3 asks for projects within the last 3 years and Section 5.3 asks for a minimum of 5 projects <br /> within the last 10 years. Please clarify which is requested. <br /> a. 5 within the last 10 years. <br /> 6. Given that answers to these questions will not be provided until Friday and that Monday is a holiday, would <br /> the County consider an extension to the submittal deadline? <br /> a. Yes, Wednesday September 12 at midnight will be the extension deadline <br /> 7. Number of service days per week for Commercial collection? Carts? Dumpsters? <br /> a. Commercial collection by Orange County is collected all in single stream carts some with <br /> separate cardboard dumpsters serviced by private contractors. Service is provided five (5) days <br /> per week. <br /> 8. Number of service days per week for the school system recycling? Front load collection?Carts? <br /> a. Orange County schools are collected weekly on Tuesdays, with all schools serviced in one day. <br /> Chapel Hill Carrboro Schools are serviced weekly on Wednesday, with all schools serviced in one <br /> day. Carts are collected by a side-loader and cardboard dumpsters (not a part of audit) are <br /> collected by front load collection. <br /> 9. Number of service days per week for multi-family residential? Carts? Front load? <br /> a. Multi-family residential is collected by single-stream carts some with separate cardboard <br /> dumpsters serviced by private contractors. Service is provided five (5) days per week. <br /> 10. UNC carts. Number of service days per week? <br /> a. Please see Attachment 1 for UNC collection details.Service is provided three (3) days per week. <br /> 11. Unstaffed/staffed recycling sites. Roll off containers? Front load containers?Single stream? How's this <br /> material getting to the tipping floor(front load truck or roll-off containers)? <br /> a. At both the un-staffed and staffed recycling sites there are a combination of single stream roll-off <br /> containers and front load cardboard containers. Material is tipped from the back door of roll-off <br /> containers and cardboard is hauled directly to the materials recovery facility. <br /> 12.000 only route servicing multiple sectors(schools, commercial, drop-off etc.)? <br /> Orange County, 200 S.
