5thWall Building Diagnostics Consultants Government Services Annex <br /> District Attorney Office <br /> Roof Replacement <br /> November 2009 <br /> 1 . 04 Product Storage and Handling <br /> A . Store and protect products in accordance with manufacturers ' instructions . <br /> Be All materials shall be stored so as to maintain clean, dry, off-ground, weathertight conditions <br /> and to protect against loss, damage, and wetting . Wet materials shall be marked, rejected for <br /> installation, and removed from the project site <br /> Co Materials temporarily stored on the roof shall be located in approved areas and shall be <br /> distributed in such a manner as to stay within the indicated load limits of roof construction . <br /> Materials shall be stored on clean, dry and raised platforms so as to prevent wetting or <br /> moisture absorption and yet provide sufficient ventilation to prevent condensation . <br /> Materials shall be covered so as to be completely weathertight with coverings that are <br /> "breathable " ( such as canvas) . Factory applied wrapping or polyethylene covers shall be <br /> unacceptable as the only storage covering. Methods and materials used for weather <br /> protection shall be approved by the Designer. <br /> D . Store with seals and labels intact and legible . <br /> E . Store sensitive products in weather tight, climate controlled , enclosures in an <br /> environment favorable to product . <br /> F . For exterior storage of fabricated products, place on sloped supports above ground . <br /> G . Provide bonded off- site storage and protection when site does not permit on- site storage <br /> or protection. <br /> H . Cover products subject to deterioration with impervious sheet covering . Provide <br /> ventilation to prevent condensation and degradation of products . <br /> I . Store loose granular materials on solid flat surfaces in well -drained area . Prevent mixing <br /> with foreign matter . <br /> J . Provide equipment and personnel to store products by methods to prevent soiling, <br /> disfigurement, or damage . <br /> K. Arrange storage of products to permit access for inspection . Periodically inspect to verify <br /> products are undamaged and are maintained in acceptable condition . <br /> L . Use of the project site by Owner shall not be compromised by the provisions of this section . <br /> 1 . 05 Product Options <br /> A . Within seven days after Notice to Proceed, Contractor shall submit list of products and <br /> materials proposed in accordance with Section 013300, Submittals . <br /> Be Options : <br /> 1 . Products and materials specified only by referenced standard : Any product or <br /> material meeting that standard . <br /> 2 . Products and materials specified by naming several manufacturers : Products and <br /> materials of any named manufacturer meeting specifications . <br /> 09 -26 Product Requirements <br /> 1600002 <br />
