Contractor shall provide equipment for access to the roof unless otherwise directed by <br /> Owner. <br /> Be A disposal chute shall be constructed by Contractor to prevent damage to buildings and <br /> grounds . Disposal chute shall be enclosed type and shall be located such that demolition <br /> debris will be discharged from the building at the designated staging area directly into <br /> disposal vehicles or containers . <br /> C . Contractor shall provide for debris removal services and containers . Placement and <br /> Ir <br /> servicing of containers shall be coordinated with the Owner. <br /> D . Residue and debris from all operations shall not be allowed to accumulate on the project site . <br /> Debris shall be removed and properly disposed of daily in accordance with all Owner <br /> Federal, State and Local regulations . The weights of all disposed materials shall be collected <br /> and provided to the owner . Any container left unattended shall be marked and covered . <br /> E . Fumes , dust, dirt and debris created by project construction shall be properly contained or <br /> controlled by the Contractor. Method(s) of control shall be approved by the Designer and/or <br /> Owner ' s Representative . <br /> 2 . 06 Safety and Protection of Facilities <br /> A. Comply with the general conditions of this specification concerning safety and protection. <br /> Be The Contractor shall take all necessary precautions and shall be totally responsible for <br /> guarding against unintentional fires and shall provide suitable and adequate fire <br /> extinguishers conveniently located on the roof at staging areas , storage areas, and at areas on <br /> around equipment where an open flame is being used . Competent operators shall be in <br /> attendance at all times and shall be properly trained or instructed in fire prevention . <br /> Co Walls, windows, roof edges , etc . , adjacent to equipment lines , hoists , and staging areas shall <br /> be protected using canvas tarpaulins . Plastic or felt will not be acceptable . <br /> D . Plywood, at a minimum of 5/8 inch thick, or other suitable materials shall be used to protect <br /> roof areas from damage that may be caused by concentrated equipment loads and foot <br /> traffic . <br /> E . Roof traffic shall be confined to work areas . Contractor shall be responsible for leaks and <br /> repairs that develop in traffic areas during and after project completion . <br /> F . Keep roof hatches closed at all times . Cover or barricade all roof openings to prevent falls . <br /> G. Work shall be coordinated so as to prevent working, foot traffic, and storage of materials and <br /> equipment on newly completed roof areas . <br /> H. The Contractor shall provide the Owner with off-hours telephone numbers of its project <br /> supervisor, foreman, etc . , to allow contact by the Owner if an emergency arises . <br /> 09 -26 Temporary Facilities and Controls <br /> 01500043 <br />
