Gutter shall be hung level and shall firmly nest <br /> into all brackets ; adjust brackets as necessary . <br /> D . Outlet tubes shall be formed with locked longitudinal seam . Upper end of tube shall be <br /> flanged 1 /2 inch and riveted to gutter . Flange shall be sealed against water leakage . <br /> Tube shall extend into downspout a minimum of 3 inches . <br /> E . Strainers shall be installed at all outlet tubes . <br /> 3 . 09 Downspouts <br /> A . Downspouts shall be formed in sections not less than 8 feet in length with any special <br /> pieces that may be required . Downspouts shall be : <br /> 1 ) Government Services Annex : Round, 4 inch diameter . <br /> 2) District Attorney Office : Rectangular , 3 inch by 4 inch . <br /> Be Downspout shall be secured to walls with 1 -inch wide pre -finished metal straps . Straps <br /> shall be positioned 12 inches below gutter, 12 inches above discharge and 8 feet o . c . ; <br /> minimum 2 straps per downspout . <br /> co Downspouts shall be secured to gutter outlet tubes with rivets ; minimum 4 rivets . <br /> D . Extend downspout into underground hubs wherever possible . <br /> E . If not possible to extend into hubs , terminate downspout 12 inches above ground level <br /> and provide discharge elbow . <br /> F . Provide concrete splash blocks at downspout discharge where connection to existing <br /> underground hubs is not possible . <br /> G Strainers shall be installed at all outlet tubes . <br /> H . Provide clean-out access at base of downspouts scheduled to be tied into existing <br /> underground drainage . Clean-out shall be positioned 24 inches above ground level . <br /> 3 . 10 Clean-up <br /> A . Clean and neutralize all flux materials . <br /> Be All excess solder, asphalt, and sealant shall be cleaned from the surface . <br /> Co All handprints , smudges and other superficial stains that were placed on the sheet metal <br /> during fabrication and installation shall be removed . <br /> D . All factory- applied protective plastic films shall be removed . <br /> E .
