Provide for air <br /> circulation around stacks and under coverings . <br /> PART 2 PRODUCTS <br /> 2 . 01 Materials <br /> A . Treated Wood : Shall be No . 2 or better southern yellow pine , kiln-dried to a moisture <br /> content of not more than 19 percent . Shall be sound, thoroughly seasoned , dressed to <br /> nominal finish dimension, and free of warpage, cupping, and bowing . All nailers and other <br /> blocking associated with the roofing installation shall be pressure treated with 0 . 40 pcf <br /> retention of alkaline copper quaternary (ACQ -C) and shall conform to AWPA Standard C - <br /> 2 for ground contact . Asphaltic or creosote preservatives shall not be used . The presence <br /> of AWPA quality mark LP-22 on each piece is required . Where full penetration of ACQ is <br /> not evident, field cuts shall be coated in accordance with AWPA standard M4 . <br /> Dimensions shall be determined by job conditions . Site - sawn ends shall be treated with <br /> one coat of preservative treatment . <br /> Be Plywood : Shall be structural 1 rated, pressure-treated in accordance with AWPA C9 with <br /> . 40 pcf retention of alkaline copper quaternary (ACQ -C) as required for ground contact. <br /> Plywood shall be stamped APA RATED SHEATHING grade C -C or better, and shall be <br /> manufactured with exterior glue (exposure 1 ) . Plywood shall be dried after treatment to a <br /> moisture content of 18 percent or less . Plywood shall be 5/8 inch in thickness, or as <br /> otherwise noted . <br /> 2 . 02 Accessories <br /> A . Nails shall be ring shank 16 -penny, cement coated (untreated wood) , use ring shank <br /> stainless steel nails for treated wood locations . <br /> Be Fasteners ( Screws) shall be stainless steel and meet ASTM A1536 connectors shall meet <br /> ASTM A653 Class G 185 . <br /> C . Bolts shall be stainless steel meeting ASTM A153 . <br /> D . Masonry anchors shall be 1 /4 inch expanding anchor-type having stainless steel nail or <br /> approved equals length shall be as required to provide a minimum of 1 - 1 /2 inch embedment <br /> in masonry . Plastic or nylon anchors shall not be allowed . <br /> E . Concrete anchors shall be a one -piece , pre - expanded 1 /4 inch diameter, flat head anchor, <br /> corrosion protected with zinc with yellow dichromate and shall be made of high grade <br /> tempered steel having a shear strength greater than grade 8 steel and have a tensile <br /> strength of not less than 2050 psi . <br /> 09 -26 Rough Carpentry <br /> 061000 -2 <br />
