Durham 688-7331 <br />Mebane 336-227-2031 <br />PURPOSE: To discuss, as the Board determines, the Goals for FY 2001-02 which the Board <br />did not have time to discuss at-the December 9, 2000 BOCC Retreat or at the December 12, <br />2000 Continued Retreat meeting. <br />BACKGROUND: The BOCC began discussion on the Goals for FY 2001-02 at the Board's <br />December 9, 2000 Retreat. Those discussions continued at the December 12, 2000 Continued <br />Retreat meeting. However, time did not allow the Board to discuss all the Goals. Staff has <br />reviewed the Goals addressed in those meetings and has determined that the following goals <br />remain to be discussed: <br />Joint Master Recreation and Parks Plan <br />Historic Preservation <br />Lands Legacy Program <br />Natural Resources <br />Wastewater Treatment Management Program (On Site) <br />Water Resource Quantity and Quality <br />Watershed Protection <br />Solid Waste Management Organization, Facilities and Services <br />In addition, Environment and Resource Conservation Director David Stancil has since <br />developed a new proposed Air Quality Goal for the Board to discuss. A copy is attached. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no direct financial impact associated with discussion of the <br />Goals for FY 2001-02. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board that the Board discuss <br />the Goals for FY 2001-02 and provide any necessary direction to staff. <br />
