ORANGE COUNTY <br /> THIRD EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT AMENDMENT <br /> NORTH CAROLINA <br /> THIS AMENDMENT, made and entered into this the 4th day of June 2019 , by and between Orange County, a political <br /> subdivision of the State of North Carolina , hereinafter called " County, " party of the first part, and Bonnie <br /> Hammersley, hereinafter called " Employee , " party of the second part : <br /> WITNESSETH : <br /> WHEREAS , the County and Employee entered into an Employment Agreement dated May 22 , 2014 , for the <br /> management of the general operations of the County government, as amended ( hereinafter the " Original <br /> Agreement" ) ; and <br /> WHEREAS , the County and Employee desire to amend the Original Agreement , while keeping in effect all terms and <br /> conditions of the Original Agreement , as amended , not inconsistent with the terms and conditions set forth below . <br /> NOW THEREFORE , for and in consideration of the mutual covenants and agreements made herein , the parties agree <br /> to amend the Original Agreement as follows : <br /> SECTION 7 : SALARY <br /> Employee will receive an annualized salary of Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ( $ 200 , 000 . 00 ) , payable on the <br /> same schedule as for other County employees Changes to Employee ' s compensation shall be administered in a <br /> manner similar to other county employees subject to an evaluation process administered by the Board of <br /> County Commissioners . <br /> SECTION 11 : RETIREMENT <br /> Employee will participate in the North Carolina Local Governmental Employees ' Retirement System , with the <br /> County contributing the employer' s share to that retirement program at a rate consistent with other County <br /> employees . Upon her retirement , at any age , the County agrees to pay 100 percent of Employee ' s share of costs <br /> under the county health plan in which it is enrolled on the effective date of her retirement . If under age 65 <br /> participation will be the group plan until age 65 at which time participation will transition to the Medicare <br /> Supplement Plan Upon transition to the Medicare Supplement Plan County will continue to pay 100 percent of <br /> Employee ' s share of costs . <br /> ( The amendment to Section 7 herein is effective only if the Board of County Commissioners approves a 2 % salary <br /> adjustment to all County employees for the 2019 - 2020 fiscal year and is inclusive of any such 2 % salary adjustment .
