During the second year of the OCCO program , the TDM Coordinator created new relationships with Orange County Schools ; Weaver Street ( Hillsborough location ) . Within the County , the TDM Coordinator work with the joining the Wellness Committee has reinforced the idea of TDM and health working in conjunction with one another. Participation on this committee allows for tabling at the annual Orange County Health Fair , The TDM Coordinator also joined the Orange County Communicators Committee which brings together all departmental communications staff on a monthly basis . This has enabled coordinated messaging to broader audiences , and has allowed direct access to the County Commissioners ' Office . This has allowed for additional promotion of all regional and local campaigns reaching people who may not normally get information from the Orange County TDM Coordinator . Additionally , The TDM Coordinator did quarterly presentations to the Orange Unified Transportation Board . This board is made of up residents who have been appointed by Board of County Commissioners who have an active interest in transportation , while also providing technical and staff support . The Orange County TDM Coordinator has also secured an ongoing place in New Employee Orientation for the County , reaching 184 new employees to date . B . The Transit Academy will target employees and residents of Orange County that would like to learn more about the transit agencies in the area . This will include information on routes , how to board the bus , transfer, and pay . The academy will now be split into two days with one day being in Hillsborough , NC and the other being in Chapel Hill , NC . The TDM Coordinator will partner with the Town of Chapel Hill TDM Coordinator to have more employers come out . Vanpool Program : The Orange County TDM Coordinator will partner with Orange County ' s Human Resource Department to pilot a targeted vanpool promotion program for employees . This program will focus on employees who commute more than 20 miles into work . To identify those employees who would be the best candidates , the TDM Coordinator will work with the Human Resource Department to get the employees zip code plus the additional four digits that will enhance our target area . This success of the program would allow for this program to be implemented with other local employers . TDM -Supported Infrastructure : The Orange County TDM Coordinator will work with the Orange County Planning Department and Capital Projects to include TDM amenities at the development stage of a County renovation or new County facility . TDM amenities include bus turnouts , connected sidewalks , parking spaces reserved for rideshare , and bike racks . Additionally , the TDM Coordinator will leverage the developer' s toolkit to streamline the process . Polar Express : The Orange County TDMC Coordinator will promote current , and increase future ridership through special route programming events called Polar Express Routes . By way of family activity , as well as to current riders , programming will promote the Orange County Public Transportation ' s Hillsborough - Chapel Hill Connector Route and the Go Triangle 420 Route with a Triangle Council of Governments 5
