NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING <br />ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />A public hearing will be held in the Judge F. Gordon Battle Superior Courtroom of the <br />New Orange County Courthouse, 106 E. Margaret Lane, Hillsborough, North Carolina, <br />on Monday, February 26, 2001, at 7:30 PM for the purpose of giving all interested citizens <br />an opportunity to speak for or against the following items: <br />A. COMPREHENSIVE PLAN TEXT AND MAP AMENDMENTS <br />Hillsborough Area Economic Development District <br />Purpose: To receive public comment on proposed amendments to the <br />Land Use Element of the Orange County Comprehensive Plan. <br />1. Expand the existing 1-40/01d NC 86 Economic Development <br />. Activity Node to include: (CP-1-01) <br />Area 1 <br />Re-designate the following properties lying south of Fletcher Road <br />and between the existing 1-40/Old NC 86 Economic Development <br />Activity Node and NC 86 from Rural Residential to Ten-Year <br />Transition and Economic Development Activity Node. The properties <br />are identified as Hillsborough Township, Tax Map 49, Block B, Lots <br />15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, and 22 (part) and Tax Map 50, Lots 6, 7, and 8 <br />containing 97.67 acres more or less. <br />Area 2 <br />Expand the existing 1-40/Old NC 86 Economic Development Activity <br />Node to include the following properties lying between the Beckett's <br />Ridge Subdivision and the Olde Mill Business Park and existing I- <br />40/Old NC 86 Economic Development Activity Node. The properties <br />are identified as Hillsborough Township, Tax Map 40, Block A, Lot 22 <br />(part) and Tax Map 45, Lot 2 (part) containing 92.57 acres more or <br />less. The area is currently designated as Twenty-Year Transition. <br />2. Create a new Economic Development Activity Node in the <br />vicinity of 1-85/NC 86 (CP-2-01) <br />Area 3a <br />Re-designate the following properties in the 1-85/NC 86/Old NC 10 <br />area from Commercial Industrial Acfivity Node to Economic <br />Development Activity Node. The properties are identified as <br />Hillsborough Township, Tax Map 45, lots 8, 8A, 9, 10, 10A, 10B, <br />10C, 11A, 19A; 19C, 29 and 32 containing 41.51 acres more or less. <br />Area 3b <br />Re-designate the following properties in the northeast quadrant of <br />the 1-85/NC 86 interchange from Commercial Industrial Activity Node <br />to Economic Development Activity Node. The properties are - <br />identified as Hillsborough Township, Tax Map 40, Block A. Lots 9B
