<br />• Public Awareness: the JCPC announces meetings in advance to the public and makes <br />the community aware of the results of the planning process; <br />• Risk Factor Assessment: the JCPC documents prioritization of risk factors; <br />• Comprehensive Strategy Assessment: the JCPC documents services available to meet <br />prioritized risk factors and an assessment of gaps issues and barriers to needed <br />services; <br />• Needed Interventions: the JCPC documents the prioritized, needed interventions; <br />• Outcomes and Strategies: the JCPC reviews juvenile justice data and develops specific <br />outcomes and strategies for implementation; <br />• Funding: the JCPC Annual Plan includes the Funding Plan <br /> <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: The Certification document must be received by the NC Department of <br />Public Safety, Division of Adult Correction and Juvenile Justice by June 30, 2019 in order for <br />local program funds to be disbursed beginning in the month of July. <br /> <br />SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goal is applicable to <br />this item: <br />• GOAL: CREATE A SAFE COMMUNITY <br />The reduction of risks from vehicle/traffic accidents, childhood and senior injuries, gang <br />activity, substance abuse and domestic violence. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board approve the JCPC <br />Certification for FY 2019-2020 and authorize the Chair to sign the associated documents. <br />2
