He said staff anticipates no problems. 31
Chair Rich asked if the MOU is good for a number of years. 32
Bonnie Hammersley said Chapel Hill wants to add a review period after 18 months, and 33
thus this would be a two-year MOU. 34
Commissioner Dorosin said last week the Board talked about funding a position for the 35
Community Empowerment Fund (CEF), of which the Partnership to End Homelessness (PTEH) 36
is in support. He said if there is interest in funding this position, he wonders if it would make 37
sense to fund it here through the PTEH, instead of through an outside agency. 38
Commissioner Greene agreed, and said the request is to give the funds to the 39
Partnership. She said the PTEH coordinator is working on an MOU to go to all municipalities. 40
She said the Executive Team of the PTEH did not get a chance to discuss this prior to its 41
summer break, but the plan would be for the funds to come from the four government entities 42
and go to the PTEH, who would then contract with the CEF to do the work. 43
Commissioner Dorosin asked if the employee would be a County employee. 44
Commissioner Greene said no, this position would be a part of CEF, and funded by all 45
jurisdictions through the PTEH. 46
Travis Myren said the County would probably hold the contract with CEF to perform 47
those functions. 48
Commissioner Dorosin said he would like this position to be a County employee under 49
PTEH Coordinator Corey Root, funded by the four-party split. 50
