<br />ORANGE COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br /> Meeting Date: June 18, 2019 <br /> Action Agenda <br /> Item No. 4-a <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Proclamation Recognizing the Carrboro High School Women’s Soccer Team for <br />Winning the 2019 State 2A Championship <br /> <br />DEPARTMENT: Community Relations <br /> <br /> <br />ATTACHMENT(S): <br />Proclamation <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />INFORMATION CONTACT: <br />Todd McGee, Community Relations <br />Director, 245-2302 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />PURPOSE: To consider a Proclamation Recognizing the Carrboro High School Women’s <br />Soccer Team for winning the 2019 State 2A Championship. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: The Carrboro High School Jaguars Women’s Soccer Team won the North <br />Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) State 2A Championship on May 25, 2019 <br />with a thrilling victory over Lake Norman Charter School. <br /> <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no financial impact associated with this item. <br /> <br />SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: There is no Orange County Social Justice Goal impact associated <br />with this item. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board approve and authorize the <br />Chair to sign the attached proclamation recognizing the Carrboro High School Jaguars <br />Women’s Soccer Team for winning the 2019 State 2A Championship and honoring the players <br />and coaches for representing the community with the highest ideals of sportsmanship and <br />integrity. <br /> <br />1
