Year-To-Date Budget <br /> Summary <br /> PURPOSE: To approve budget ordinance amendments for fiscal year 2018-19. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> Non-Department - Juvenile Crime Prevention Council (JCPC) <br /> 1. The Juvenile Community Programs Committee of JCPC occasionally awards programs <br /> discretionary funds at the end of the fiscal year. This year, the Dispute Settlement Center <br /> has been awarded $1,581 and Volunteers for Youth has been awarded $1,290, for a <br /> combined $2,871 in additional funds. This budget amendment provides for the use of <br /> these funds during the current fiscal year. (See Attachment 1, column 1) <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goal is <br /> applicable to this item: <br /> • GOAL: CREATE A SAFE COMMUNITY <br /> The reduction of risks from vehicle/traffic accidents, childhood and senior injuries, <br /> gang activity, substance abuse and domestic violence. <br /> Miscellaneous <br /> 2. The FY 2018-19 Board of Commissioners' Approved Budget included funds of <br /> $1,654,615 for a Wage Increase of 2.0%, effective July 1, 2018, as well as an employee <br /> performance award of either $500, $750, or $1,000, effective with Work Planning and <br /> Performance Review (WPPR) dates from July 1 , 2018 to June 30, 2019. This budget <br /> amendment provides for the allocation of $1,654,615 within departments to cover the <br /> Wage Increase and performance awards in FY 2018-19. (See Attachment 1, column 2) <br />
