I am also a graduate student at UNCs School of Government and <br /> therefore have knowledge both of the problem surrounding under-aged drinking and the <br /> challenges of local government. My mom is currently serving on the Shelby ABC Board, and I <br /> have been fortunate to accompany her to a few conferences and learn more about the unique <br /> challenges a state mandated, but community staffed and run ABC faces. <br /> Reasons for wanting to serve on this board: <br /> I find all the challenges surrounding the ABC Board and serving the community is this way <br /> fascinating.
