� 6 <br /> Hi my name is Stan Lawton <br /> I own 4.08 acres on Old Greensboro Highway in Bingham Township, Orange <br /> County, of which 1.43 acres is zoned EC5. I would like to explore the possibility of <br /> converting the entire 4.08 acres to EC5 zoning as well as the possibility of erecting <br /> an additional storage building on the property. The storage business is a good one <br /> and the occupancy rate is consistently 95% but I receive many calls for storage I <br /> must turn away for lack of enough units. That is why I would like to construct an <br /> additional climate-controlled storage building which would require a changeover to <br /> EC5 zoning. <br /> I bought the land in 1977 as a place to operate my business. The existing <br /> building was a rough pole barn (80x100 feet) with aircraft hanger doors on either <br /> end and a dirt floor. The building was just a shell with a dirt floor and little <br /> protection from heat or cold. A small office sat next to it on the east side. The <br /> trucks would drive in one end and load trusses and wall sections and drive out the <br /> other end. They stacked trusses in fiont of the building on a rack for advertising. <br /> There were no trees and the land surrounding the buildings was entirely scraped of <br /> topsoil in order to level the area for trucks to come and go. The rest of the property <br /> was covered in wild blackberries. At that time Old Greensboro Highway was <br /> entirely rural with very little traffic.
