Benedict, ext. 2592 <br />TELEPHONE NUMBERS: - <br />Hillsborough 732-8181 <br />Chapel Hill 968-4501 <br />Durham 688-7331 <br />Mebane (336)227-2031 <br />PURPOSE: Review of 58 acre commercial project in Hillsborough's jurisdiction in preparation for <br />joint meeting with the Town of Hillsborough Board of Commissioners on January 31, 2001.. <br />BACKGROUND: Hampton Pointe was submitted in January, 2001 as a rezoning master plan and <br />is within Hillsborough's jurisdiction. <br />This review is part of the informal courtesy review program that has arisen from the EDD Orange <br />County/Hillsborough Task Force. <br />The Orange County Planning Director spoke at Hillsborough's January 23, 2001 public hearing and <br />submitted draft comments. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: The project has considerable fiscal impact for the Town of Hillsborough and <br />potential tax base for Orange County. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board hear the report and offer <br />comment.
