27
Page 2 of 2 Judson Williamson
owners. I have followed closely the lobbying efforts of local icons Scott Maitland and Gary
Crunkleton and have a great appreciation for the level of engagement within our community.
Additionally, for the last several years, I have enjoyed my experience serving with the Chapel Hill
Public Library Board, and I look forward to becoming more active in additional capacities in the
community.
Conflict of Interest:
I have no business interest that could create a conflict of interest, and, while I don t believe that I
have a personal interest that would be a real conflict either, I thought it worthwhile to disclose
that I worked in bars and restaurants many years ago and my wife is currently an employee of
Crook s Corner restaurant.
Supplemental Questions:
Alcoholic Beverage Control Board
Please list/explain your experience, either professionally and/or from other
boards/commissions that you have in the areas of budget, personnel, and management.
As a sous chef and kitchen manager years ago, I coordinated food costs, ordering and
inventory, personnel and scheduling, and managed shift employees. While at UNC, I managed
the budget for the dental school s foundation office. As a self-employed attorney, I manage the
staff and daily function of a small law office in Chapel Hill.
In addition to the experience listed in the question above, please list the work/volunteer
experience/qualifications that would add to your expertise for this board.
In addition to serving on the Chapel Hill Public Library Board, I frequently volunteer in various
capacities at the UNC School of Law. My wife and I assist with a practical family law course
every spring semester, and I supervise student attorneys in pro bono clinics several times per
year. I have volunteered with local Habitat builds as well as workdays at the SECU House and
Ronald McDonald House.
What do you see as the responsibilities of this board, and what do you hope to
accomplish if appointed?
I would employ my knowledge and skillset to assist in setting policy and adopting rules that
conform with North Carolina ABC Laws and Commission Rules. I would also be excited to be a
part of the community grant program. While working in the foundation office at the UNC School
of Dentistry, I took great joy in coordinating their annual scholarship and fellowship process, and
I would be delighted to work with fellow board members to serve in this similar capacity.
Boards/Commissions appointments:
Other Comments:
This application was current on: 10/12/2018 6:30:39 PM Date Printed: 4/15/2019
