o Bryan Stuart (task force chair) reported on the amendments to Sec. 4-182, <br />Division 5, proposed by the task force <br />o Task force member Edmund Tiryakian read a statement voicing disagreement <br />with some aspects of the draft, and proposing a mechanism by which residents <br />could ask for exemptions to any prohibitions <br />o Anne-Marie Tesco presented draft amendments to the enforcement provision of <br />the ordinance, which she and Bob Marotto have been working on <br />o The ASAB began a spirited discussion of the proposed amendments. Among <br />other things, the ASAB discussed how to proceed procedurally, such as bringing <br />in experts to present, hosting listening panels for community members, etc. <br />o Upon motion, the ASAB voted to expand the Task Force to include Beth Grooms <br />and Evelyn Daniel as new members <br />o Also upon motion, the ASAB approved the following plan: <br /> The expanded Task Force will create a second draft of its pr oposed <br />amendments, based on the issues raised during the meeting <br /> The Task Force will clarify its definition of “dangerous” animals— <br />including epidemiological issues, etc. <br /> The Task Force will create a pr oposed procedural plan for moving <br />forward —including more ASAB discussion, expert involvement, possible <br />listening sessions with community members, etc. <br /> <br /> <br />New Business <br /> Family Fun Fest! <br />o Bob Marotto introduced a new Animal Services event, the Family Fun Fest!, <br />which will take place on May 18, 2019, in Fairview Park in Hillsborough. <br />o Animal Services wants to ask the BOCC for permission to use money from its <br />community-giving fund on a mobile veterinary clinic for this event. Bob Marotto <br />asked for the ASAB’s support when Animal Services approaches the BOCC for <br />approval. <br />o ASAB members asked questions about the event, the costs of hiring a mobile <br />clinic, and the community-giving fund <br />o On motion, the ASAB approved lending its support to Animal Services ’ request <br /> <br /> <br />Adjournment and next meeting: <br />x The meeting was adjourned at 8:25 p.m. The next meeting is May 15, 2019, at 6:30 p.m., <br />Orange County Animal Services Center. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
