i. SALT teams reported that clients were overwhelmed with <br /> unopened mail that was not being dealt with <br /> ii. SALT clients asking for people to assist with managing the bills <br /> that are coming in and piling up <br /> e. Research and be sure of parameters and legalities <br /> f. Create an organization system that trains seniors & protects the <br /> volunteer <br /> g. Need legal disclaimer waiver signed by senior's next person closest to <br /> them, HCPOA and/or POA, needs to sign waiver acknowledging that <br /> volunteer is working with their parent or appointer. <br /> 2017-22 Master Aging Plan <br /> 14. Quarterly workgroup meetings are being held in March <br /> a. All workgroups are meeting this month in preparation for completing the matrix by the end of <br /> the month. <br /> 15. MAP quarterly reports to be shared at April and May board meetings <br /> Continuing Proiects <br /> 16. Project EngAGE and Senior Resource Teams Update <br /> a. Events: Voluntary Stopping of Eating and Drinking (VSED) event was held on March 7 at the <br /> Seymour Center with 70+ in attendance. The program will be repeated at the Passmore Center <br /> b. Upcoming End of Life program, March 21, 5-7pm, "Let's Continue the Conversation," based on <br /> Conversation Project about End of life choices. Follow-up session on April 18. <br /> c. LGBTQ event— Dinner & movie—April 4 from 6-9 p.m. <br /> d. Now recruiting for the next Project EngAGE class starting Sept. 12, 2019. Accepting nomination <br /> now, contact VC 55+ staff, Shenae McPherson or Melissa Hunter for more information <br /> e. Mental Health Panel Discussion —May 30 from 5-7 p.m. Seymour Center <br /> f. Recruit a Master of Social Work— macro student practicum to review program impact, data and <br /> write future proposal <br /> 17. Committee Progress Reports if needed: <br /> 18. Dementia Friendly Business Campaign <br /> a. Marie Dagger transitioning leadership over to Lisa Meinert. <br /> 19. Senior Tar Heel Legislature— Dick White <br /> 20.
