If you would like Autumn to attend but does not count as an active visitor.
 Facilities are doing more through assessment and that is why are seeing more empty beds.
 Carol Woods (CCRC) – Gavin Locklear is the new administration and his office is in the health center. We rarely have
any complaints.
 Crescent Green-a couple allegations pending.
 Stratford and Joan Fields training was held at the facility. But the week before she did a Resident’s Rights and has to
complete and in-service if a facility was sighted for a finding. An Administration can request an in-service dignity,
customer service. Good Responses on Resident Activities.
 Cedar Grove and Charles House are on the schedule to meet before the May meeting.
 Livewell- she and Joan went to Coker Hill and one of their oldest resident had passed.
 Livewell-Pauline had a couple deficient have not been finalize “IDR” Process is still pending.
 Signature is a skilled nursing facility.
Orange County (OCDOA)
Department of Aging
Annie Deaver,
Aging Transitions Administrator
 A. Zuber and group discussion regarding the disparity for seniors in Orange County. We meet 6 times a year maybe
we could meet 4 and have 2 meetings with staff at The Stratford and Crescent Green as we learned at the training that
one group met with the CEO of a facility to begin to engage change. Maybe spend more time at facilities that need
assistance as there is really nothing to improve at Carolwoods. Invite County Commissioners. The answer will be
money. Bring in more volunteers and interns from university and area schools.

• Some of the administrators are on the defensive if when we go in “ask the Administrator if there is anything that we can
help them with”:
• Livewell could like to have their residents attend sessions at the Seymour Center but transportation is the issue.
• Charles House has transportation but would like to know what events would be best for their residents to attend.
• M. Zuber stated how do we connect the resources with the communities we serve (pet therapy). W. Lang
suggested that some groups were formed to concentrate on resources for senior facilities. Master Aging Plan
discussion ensued.
 S. Little motioned to
approve the 3
OCACH Facility
Reports January 2,
2019.
 G. Brown seconded
the motion.
 The full committee
accepted the reports
with minor edits as
needed.
