4 <br />Resolution A <br />A Resolution Establishing the Intention of the Board of Commissioners Not to Provide a <br />New Construction and Demolition Landfill Once the Current Facility Reaches Capacity <br />WHEREAS, the existing construction and demolition landfill located on Eubanks Road is <br />expected to reach capacity in the spring-summer of 2001; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners and others have participated in numerous public <br />discussions regarding issues related to construction and demolition waste management is <br />recent years; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners have given careful consideration to the issue of <br />construction and demolition disposal: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: <br />That the Orange County Board of Commissioners will not further consider development of a <br />new construction and demolition disposal facility in Orange County at this time and directs the <br />Manager to develop a plan for a cessation of construction and demolition disposal by the <br />Orange County Solid Waste Management Department that includes provisions for notification of <br />construction and demolition material generators and either the replacement of lost revenues or <br />a reduction in services/programs, or some combination thereof. <br />This, the day of , 2001 <br />Stephen Halkiotis, Chair <br />Orange County Board of Commissioners <br />Beverly Blythe <br />Clerk to the Board -of Commissioners
