Year-To-Date Budget <br /> Summary <br /> PURPOSE: To approve budget ordinance amendments for fiscal year 2018-19. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> Animal Services <br /> 1. Animal Services has received revenue totaling $13,746 through the Community Giving <br /> Fund donated specifically for use toward a musical enrichment program at the Animal <br /> Shelter. This budget amendment provides for the receipt of these donated funds for the <br /> above stated purpose. (See Attachment 1, column 1) <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: There is no Orange County Social Justice Goal impact <br /> associated with this item. <br /> Social Services <br /> 2. The Department of Social Services (DSS) has received a total of $101,150 in additional <br /> state and federal revenue due to the higher than anticipated number of children in DSS's <br /> custody, as well as additional Smart Start and Child Care Development administrative <br /> funds. These funds will be used for the needs of those children in care and associated <br /> administrative costs. This budget amendment provides for the receipt of these additional <br /> funds. (See Attachment 1, column 2) <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goal is <br /> applicable to this item: <br /> • GOAL: CREATE A SAFE COMMUNITY <br /> The reduction of risks from vehicle/traffic accidents, childhood and senior <br /> injuries, gang activity, substance abuse and domestic violence. <br />
