It is through this lens that we will <br /> begin to eliminate the opportunity gaps for ALL Our Students. <br /> CHAPEL HILL- <br /> ARMORO <br /> CITY SCHOOLS <br /> • "REI-Ground Water"training provides an historical context <br /> related to racism and its fundamental impacts on <br /> organizations. <br /> "Reyond Diversity"training which will provide an in-depth <br /> analysis of systemic issues as they relate directly to schools <br /> and their communities. It allows participants to practice their <br /> learning in the context of their work in schools. <br /> Dr. Pam Baldwin said this is an additional request for staff training opportunities, and is <br /> separate from CHCCS equity training, which is for curriculum development in the classroom. <br /> Commissioner Price asked if there are currently any maternity or paternity leave <br /> benefits. <br /> Jennifer Bennett said staff can take time under Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), but <br /> must use leave to be paid for this time. She said this proposal would supplement salaries, and <br /> provide additional resources in time. <br /> Dr. Pam Baldwin said staff currently has no paid maternity leave, but rather must use <br /> sick or leave time when on maternity. <br /> Commissioner Price asked if this would also apply to adoption. <br /> Jennifer Bennett said that yes that is the intent. <br />
