Davis, Planner III, ext 2580 <br />Moratorium Extension Notice Letter TELEPHONE NUMBERS: <br />Ordinance of Moratorium Hillsborough 732-8181 <br />Planning Board & Public Comments Chapel Hill 968-4501 <br />(To be provided under separate Durham 688-7331 <br />cover following January 11, 2001 Mebane 336-227-2031 <br />Planning Board meetin <br />PURPOSE: A resolution approving an ordinance for a time period extension for the EDD <br />moratoria area near 1-40/01d NC86, and 1-85/Old NC86. <br />BACKGROUND: The Orange County/Hillsborough Economic Development Districts Task <br />Force has been working since February of this year on zoning districts that would permit certain <br />uses by right and some uses through a special use rezoning and special use permit process. <br />These parcels. include approximately 800 acres and were noted on the June 6, 2000 <br />moratorium maps as parcels A, 1 and 2. The extension is proposed from the original 6-month <br />period ending January 2001 to April 2001 where the moratorium will expire on said parcels. <br />The Orange County/Hillsborough Economic Development Districts Task Force is conducting <br />open meetings on a regular basis to complete its amendments to the EDD guidelines and <br />regulations. <br />Some of the zoning districts, regulations and processes are being proposed as part of this <br />public hearing. A regular public hearing will be scheduled on February 26, 2001 to address <br />these areas that are within the moratorium. The Planning Board will hear this item on January <br />11, 2001. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: None at this time. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): Administration recommends the acceptance of staff, public input, <br />and Planning Board action into the public hearing records and recommends approval of the <br />moratoria extension to April 18, 2001.
