The Health Department has received notification of additional funding from NC <br /> Department of Health and Human Services in the amount of $20,905 for the Family <br /> Planning program. These funds will be used to support existing staff. This budget <br /> amendment provides for the receipt of these additional funds. (See Attachment 1, <br /> column #2) <br /> 4. The Health Department has received notification of additional funding from Delta Dental <br /> in the amount of $4,000. These funds will be used for specific supplies in the dental clinic <br /> consistent with the grant award. This budget amendment provides for the receipt of <br /> these additional grant funds. (See Attachment 1, column #3) <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goals are <br /> applicable to these items: <br /> • GOAL: ESTABLISH SUSTAINABLE AND EQUITABLE LAND-USE AND <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL POLICIES <br /> The fair treatment and meaningful involvement of people of all races, cultures, <br /> incomes and educational levels with respect to the development and enforcement of <br /> environmental laws, regulations, policies, and decisions. Fair treatment means that <br /> no group of people should bear a disproportionate share of the negative <br /> environmental consequences resulting from industrial, governmental and <br /> commercial operations or policies. <br /> • GOAL: ENSURE ECONOMIC SELF-SUFFICIENCY <br /> The creation and preservation of infrastructure, policies, programs, and funding <br /> necessary for residents to provide shelter, food, clothing, and medical care for <br /> themselves and their dependents. <br /> Orange County Schools Capital Projects <br /> 5. The Orange County Schools Board of Education has requested the repurposing of <br /> available funds of $220,362 from multiple school capital projects to fund five (5) projects <br /> within the district that need immediate attention (See Attachment 3). This budget <br /> amendment provides for the repurposing of available funds, and amends the School <br /> Capital Project Ordinances for each of the projects as listed in Attachment 3. <br />
