17 <br /> Court Timelines <br /> • Child Planning Conference—within seven days <br /> • Adjudication Hearing —within 60 days of filing of the petition <br /> • Disposition Hearing —within 30 days of the adjudication hearing <br /> • Review Hearing — at least every six months; typically held every 3 months in Orange <br /> County <br /> • Permanency Planning Hearing —within 12 months of child entering custody; subsequent <br /> hearings at least every six months <br /> Policy Changes and Requirements: <br /> Assessments <br /> • All children must be interviewed separately from their parents at each contact and a <br /> home visit should occur the same day as initiation <br /> • Social Worker should tour the home and premises where the child sleeps, eats, and <br /> plays <br /> • Must see all children and parent/caretaker at a minimum of twice/monthly <br /> • Must conduct a home visit with the non-resident parent before the child visits if the non- <br /> resident parent is an alleged perpetrator of abuse/neglect <br /> Policy Changes and Requirements: <br /> In Home Services <br /> • Frequency of Contact <br /> o Moderate: must have face-to-face contact with all children and the <br /> parent/caretaker twice per month. One of the contacts must occur in the home. <br /> o High: must have face-to-face contact with all children and the parent/caretaker <br /> weekly. Two of the contacts each month must occur in the home. <br /> • Children must be interviewed separately from their parent/caretaker at each face to face <br /> visit <br /> • Social worker must tour the home once a month to observe where child sleeps, eats, <br /> and plays <br /> • Monthly contact with non-resident parent <br /> • Two collateral contacts per month <br /> Policy Changes and Requirements: <br /> Permanency Planning <br /> • Face to Face Contacts <br /> o Child: within 7 days of entering custody; monthly thereafter in placement <br /> o Parent: once monthly when primary plan is reunification; 3 out of 6 of the <br /> contacts should occur where the parent is residing <br /> o Placement Provider: within 7 days of child's placement; monthly thereafter. All <br /> caretakers in the home at least quarterly <br /> Policy Changes and Requirements Within 7 Days of Entering Custody <br /> • Non-secure custody hearing (Child Planning Conference) <br /> • Initial medical exam for the child <br /> • First visit with parents <br /> • Best Interest Determination meeting within 5 school days <br /> • Completion of Child Education Status component <br />
