Article 5 : Uses <br /> Section 5 . 7 : Standards for Recreational Uses <br /> ( ii ) h shall not cross ove e septic fields . <br /> ( iii ) A Type B Land Us er , as Section 6 . 8 , shall be <br /> required the portion of the property where track is <br /> ed . <br /> ( B ) Use Standards = Non - residential Land Uses <br /> In additio irements contained within ance , recreational uses <br /> developed as an accessory us - sidential land use shall abide by the following : <br /> ( 1 ) a not constitute Recreational Facilities . <br /> 5 . 7 . 2 Recreational Facilities <br /> ( A) Goal Standards of Evaluation <br /> ( 1)%% The standards included herein shall be applied to recreational facili ' es as a <br /> incipal use of property . <br /> (2) The m um lot area shall be two acres . <br /> (3) Facilities may ' lude such features as play a raining areas , athletic field <br /> lights , public addre systems , parking f atrons and staff , storage/office <br /> facilities , and restroom er facili ' . <br /> (4) No building shall be closer feet from any right - of-way or property line or <br /> the minimum require is of the di ' ct in which it is located . <br /> (5 ) Outdoor athl ields shall comply with th ovisions of Section 6 . 11 and shall <br /> be locat a minimum of 50 feet from a pro er e . <br /> ( 6) outdoor recreational facilities shall utilize a combina ' of screens , fences , <br /> nets , berms , or vegetation to keep equipment on the prope <br /> ( B ) Standards for SpeGiift UsesUse Standards <br /> ( Shooting Ranges <br /> ( a) Shooting ranges , including skeet shooting activi ' es , shall be designed or <br /> oriented to keep projectiles on the property . <br /> ( b ) Outdoor shooting ranges shall : <br /> ( i Be located a minimum of 300 f t from all property lines , street <br /> rights - of-way , or access ease ents ; <br /> ( ii ) located a minimum of , 000 feet from occupied dwelling units <br /> exte al to the property ; nd <br /> ( iii ) Direct al tationary t get shooting activities into a projectile - <br /> proof backs a imum of 15 feet in height and 30 feet in <br /> depth . <br /> ( iv) Operate only om : 00 a . m . to 6 : 00 p . m . daily . <br /> (v) Maintain a ype F land e buffer , as detailed in Section 6 . 8 , <br /> around t e perimeter of th ange . <br /> ( c) Indoor shooti activities shall : <br /> ( i ) B ocated a minimum of 50 feet fro all property lines , street <br /> ' ghts - of-way , or access easements ; <br /> ( ii ) Be located a minimum of 500 feet from occ ied dwelling units <br /> external to the property ; and <br /> 1i ) Direct shooting activities into a projectile proof bac op to keep <br /> the shot within the structure . <br /> Orange County, North Carolina — Unified Development Ordinance Page 5 - 81 <br />
