Article 5 : Uses <br /> Section 5 . 10 : Standards for Telecommunication Facilities <br /> ( If an antenna is erected on a transmission line , documentation sh e required <br /> o that the antenna will not interfere , or be interfered , by the normal <br /> operating racteristics of the transmission line ; <br /> (7) If the equipment bui . is located on the of the building , the area of the <br /> equipment building shall no up re than 25% of the roof area , and shall <br /> comply with all State of North ro uilding Code requirements for the <br /> proposed and existin ing ; and <br /> ( 8) Approval of lanning Director to ensure consisten ' th the definition of <br /> stealt ility is required . Each application shall contain a re HQrjng or <br /> tograph of the antenna including , but not limited to , colors and sdre<ing <br /> devices . <br /> ( C) Standards of Evaluation for Non = Stealth Rooftop or Building , Water Tank or <br /> Transmission Line Mounted Antennas <br /> addition to the standards established in Sub - Section ( A) above , the following are <br /> ap licable to all Non - Stealth Mounted Antennas : <br /> ( 1 ) Antennas shall not exceed 20 feet above the roofline of the subject uilding or <br /> upport structure , water tank , or transmission line ; <br /> (2) A ennas shall only be permitted on buildings or structures th are at least 33 <br /> feet ll . Antennas may be placed on buildings less than 33 et tall if public <br /> safety eeds warrant the antenna ; <br /> (3) Antenna and related equipment buildings , shall be loc ed or screened to <br /> minimize t visual impact of the antenna upon adjac t properties and shall be <br /> of a material r color which matches the exterior of e building or structure upon <br /> which it is situ ed ; <br /> (4) Commercial adve ising shall not be allowed o an antenna ; <br /> (5 ) Signals , lights , or illu ination shall not be p mitted on an antenna , unless <br /> required by the FCC o he FAA ; <br /> ( 6 ) Any related unstaffed eq " ment buildi shall not contain more than 600 square <br /> feet of gross floor area per er or be ore than 12 feet in height ; <br /> ( 7) If the equipment building is Ioc to on the roof of the building , the area of the <br /> equipment building shall not occ y more than 25% of the roof area , and shall <br /> comply with all State of North r ' na Building Code requirements for the <br /> proposed and existing buildi ; <br /> (8) Antennas may be located n utility pole pursuant to the following regulations : <br /> ( a) The maximum eight of the pole ith antenna shall not exceed 70 feet in <br /> height . <br /> ( b ) The utility oles shall be located on pu is property , within public <br /> easeme ts , or public rights - of-way . <br /> ( c) The tenna shall be of a size and placeme t that is structurally <br /> co atible with the engineering design of the ole pursuant to the North <br /> C rolina State Building Code and attested to by professional engineer <br /> icensed in the State of North Carolina , and comp ent to evaluate <br /> antenna choices . <br /> ( d ) The antenna shall not extend more than ten feet abov the existing pole <br /> height .
