I am a certified Aging in Place <br /> specialist through the National Association of Homebuilders and trained in several AARP <br /> approaches to community based programming (We Need to Talk, Community Liveability). I <br /> served from 2010-2018 as a contract occupational therapist with the Orange County <br /> Department on Aging, including as a major grant initiative coordinator from 2015-2018, as a <br /> MAP group member in 2012-2013 and as a Map facilitator in 2017. 1 also conduct research <br /> regarding older caregivers and teach classes related to Aging through my position at UNC. In <br /> the fall of 2018 1 was named Associate Director of the UNC Partnerships in Aging. <br /> Reasons for wanting to serve on this board: <br /> I greatly value my time spent working with the Orange County Department on Aging as a <br /> contractor, and would like to give back in a different role as an advisory board member. I believe <br /> I hold big-picture perspectives on the work of the OCDOA as well as the lives of older adults in <br /> Oraneg County. <br />
