To date, the program has conducted more than 1200 <br />investigations, responding to complaints, staff observations, and results of water quality <br />monitoring. <br />Stream Restoration and Stonnwater Retrofitting -The City of Durham is actively involved <br />in stream restoration and Stonnwater retrofitting projects with various partners, Cunently <br />more than $4 million has been expended or committed to stream restoration and Stonnwater <br />treatment projects within the City. In the Jordan Lake watershed, projects that have been <br />completed include stream restoration on Third Fork Creek in Forest Hills Park, and stream <br />enhancement and wetlands restoration on Sandy Creele. Also in the Jordan Lake watershed, <br />the Durham Soil and Water Conservation District has received a grant to design Stonnwater <br />retrofits at R, N. Harris Elementary School, and is seeking fwrds for a stream restoration <br />project at the schooh Duke University is implementing a stream restoration and stormwater <br />heatment project in Upper Sandy Creek. Duke University, NC Central University and other <br />public and private partners are preparing a grant application for retrofitting and partial <br />redevelopment in an area of downtown Durham along the drainage basin divide, and thus <br />draining to both Jordan and Falls Lakes, The intent is for the entire project to receive LEEDS <br />certification.. <br />Orange County <br />Participates in efforts to restore streams and wetlands tluough such efforts as the Morgan & <br />Little Creeks Local Watershed Plan with NC Ecosystem Enhancement Program, Canrrboro, <br />
