Call to Order: Introductions. <br /> <br />II. Additions or Changes to Agenda, Meeting Summary: October notes were reviewed. <br />No comments were made about the October notes. <br /> <br />III. Report of the Chair: Membership/Vacancies, Cedar Grove, Efland Cheeks, and Chapel <br />Hill Township are vacant. There are a few applicants to review from Chapel Hill <br />Township. Gina Reyman is up for reappointment. She is willing to serve another term. <br />Rhodes moved to recommend Kim Manturuk for the Chapel Hill Township slot to the <br />BOCC and Robinson seconded the motion. All voted in favor. The board began a <br />discussion about how to fill the other two positions being in favor of more at large <br />positions when they remain open for a while. Stancil will come up with a few proposals. <br />Greeson recommended we look at the Hillsborough Township applicant at our next <br />meeting. <br /> <br />III. New Business <br />a. MST Steering Role Stancil noted that the board had previously indicated <br />agreement to be a steering committee for the MST. <br />b. Quarterly MST Update (Kim Livingston) Livingston gave an update on areas of the <br />trail and work being done in each section. The sections described were: <br />Occonneechee Mountain to Seven Mile Creek; Cane Creek Area; and Eno River <br />State Park. <br />c. Annual Report and Work Plan for BOCC. The group looked at a preliminary report <br />that Stancil put together and used last years’ report and some additional notes to <br />finalize the report. The following activities will be priorities: River Park improvements; <br />Blackwood Farm Park Phase 2; Soccer.com expansion (including a decision on <br />whether artificial or Bermuda grass fields?); Schools use by the County for athletic <br />and arts/recreation programs; and Little River Park Master Plan. <br />Emerging issues: inclusive playground; pool and splash pad (Cedar Grove has <br />expressed interest) Community Gardens and Pollinator Gardens at Parks; and the <br />need for more communication with other Park & Recreation Boards in Orange <br />County; Multi-Model trail. <br />d. 2019 PRC Meeting Calendar - meet at Little River Park for the cookout in May. <br /> <br />V. Old Business <br />a. Discussion of 2019 Agenda Items –March 6, Recreation Report (Chris Sousa); April <br />3 meeting, (Parks) Dan Derby; and May 1, Landscape Architect (Marabeth Carr.)
