• Katie is working with the Director of Humanities for the Public Good on a possible <br /> symposium regarding on/off campus art collaborations. <br /> • Katie may be working with an NAE grant to bring a series of performing artists to <br /> Orange County in 2020/2021. <br /> • Katie and Fred attended the inaugural meeting of the EJI lynching memorial project. <br /> Fred spoke eloquently to a very attentive crowd. <br /> V. Committee Reports: <br /> • Fundraising Committee—Dan and Chris are working on preliminary structure for a <br /> 501(c)3. <br /> • Calvin Street Tree—Anita has done a great job wrangling this project. Wood has been <br /> milled and will be kiln dried for about a year. RFQ going out this week. Three finalists <br /> will be selected. Project estimated to be finished in May 2020. <br /> VI. Liaison Reports: <br /> Visitor's Bureau—Tim <br /> o No meeting in December. <br /> Hillsborough Arts Council—Doris <br /> o The Gift Shop enjoyed record sales in November& December. <br /> o The HAC facility is closed for the month of January while some maintenance and <br /> cosmetic improvements are being done. <br /> o The Executive Committee has started our strategic planning process. We have a <br /> facilitator that has worked with HAC for several years and knows our <br /> organization well. We will be meeting monthly on Sunday afternoons for the <br /> next several months. <br /> o The Solstice Lantern Walk was a huge success despite having to reschedule the <br /> event due to rain. An estimated 4,000 people participated. <br /> Orange County Artists Guild—Katie for Anita <br /> o The Guild is considering significantly increasing advertising and marketing for <br /> the 2019 Tour. <br /> Carrboro Arts Committee—Dan <br /> o A search for the Carrboro poet laureate is underway. <br /> The Arts Center—Dan <br /> o Dan distributed copies of the Art School Winter classes. <br /> o There is an exhibit of neon art in the gallery this month. <br /> o There will be a press release soon announcing that The Art Center is no longer a <br /> part of the 203 Greensboro project. <br /> o Opening a search for Arts Education Coordinator. <br />
