Article 10: Definitions 255 <br /> Section 10.1: Definitions <br /> A land use involved with the production of castings or products through poring molten metal into molds or <br /> casts. <br /> Fraternity, Sorority House <br /> A building occupied by and maintained exclusively for college or university students who are affiliated with <br /> a social, honorary or professional organization and which is recognized by the college, university or other <br /> institution of higher learning. <br /> Freeboard <br /> Height added to the Base Flood Elevation (BFE) to account for the many unknown factors that could <br /> contribute to flood elevations. <br /> Frontage, Building <br /> The linear length of a building facing a public street right-of-way, exclusive of alleys; or the linear length of <br /> the street right-of-way that faces the building, whichever is smaller. <br /> Frontage, Lot Line <br /> The distance measured along the designated front lot line or public or private right-of-way or easement, <br /> as determined by the Planning Director, which affords vehicular access to the property between the <br /> points of intersection of the side lot lines with such right-of-way or easement. For the purposes of this <br /> definition, businesses have only one frontage. <br /> Frontage, Tenant <br /> Each lineal foot, or major portion thereof, measured along the main entry of a tenant space within a non- <br /> residential complex. <br /> Full Cutoff Fixture <br /> See Outdoor Lighting, Full Cutoff Fixture. <br /> Functionally Dependent Facility <br /> A facility, which cannot be used for its intended purpose unless it is located in close proximity to water, <br /> such as a docking, or port facility necessary for the loading and unloading of cargo or passengers, <br /> shipbuilding, or ship repair. The term does not include long-term storage, manufacture, sales, or service <br /> facilities. <br /> Garden Center <br /> Retail sales operation providing lawn and garden supplies and small equipment rental primarily for home <br /> landscaping. Typical products include, but not limited to, decorative stone, garden ornaments, decorative <br /> pots, container plant stock, and bagged or bulk sand, mulch and topsoil. Seasonal sales such as <br /> Christmas trees, pumpkins and flowers are permitted in the outdoor display area. <br /> General Use Zoning District <br /> The various zoning districts contained in Article 3 of this Ordinance that are not Conditional Districts. <br /> Conditions cannot be applied to general use zoning districts. <br /> Glare <br /> Light emitting from a luminaire, solar panel, glass, or similar reflective surface with an intensity great <br /> enough to reduce a viewer's ability to see or to cause annoyance, and, in extreme cases, causing <br /> momentary blindness. <br /> Golf Course <br /> A tract of land designed and laid out for the game of golf.
