5 <br /> Attachment 1 <br /> NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING <br /> ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> A public hearing will be held at the Southern Human Services Center, 2501 Homestead Road, Chapel <br /> Hill, North Carolina, on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at 7:00 PM for the purpose of giving all interested <br /> residents an opportunity to speak for or against the following items: <br /> 1. Unified Development Ordinance Text Amendments: In accordance with the provisions of <br /> Section 2.8 Zoning Atlas and Unified Development Ordinance Amendments of the Unified <br /> Development Ordinance, the Planning Director has initiated amendments to the Unified <br /> Development Ordinance (UDO) to: <br /> a. Combine the three existing tables of permitted uses for general use zoning districts, EDD <br /> general use zoning districts, and conditional zoning districts into a centralized permitted use <br /> table and amend other sections as necessary as a result of the combination; <br /> b. Modify Article 10 Definitions to incorporate new and/or revised definitions of various land <br /> uses, consistent with the proposed new table; <br /> c. Incorporate modifications to the Economic Development Hillsborough (EDH) zoning <br /> districts; and <br /> d. Include processes allowing for `reasonable accommodations'. <br /> The following Sections of the UDO are proposed for amendment: <br /> 2.10 Variances <br /> 2.11 Interpretations <br /> 2.23 Reasonable Accommodation (new section) <br /> 3.8 Conditional Districts <br /> 5.1.1 Prohibited Uses <br /> 5.1.4 Conditional Uses <br /> 5.1.5 Key to Permitted Use Table (new section) <br /> 5.2. Table of Permitted Uses <br /> 5.3.2 Special Uses <br /> 5.4 Standards for Temporary Uses <br /> 5.5 Standards for Residential Uses <br /> 5.6 Standards for Commercial Uses (to also be renamed) <br /> 5.7 Standards for Recreational Uses <br /> 5.8 Standards for Childcare & Educational Facilities (to also be renamed) <br /> 5.9 Standards for Utilities <br /> 5.10 Standards for Telecommunication Facilities <br /> 5.11 Standards for Waste Management Facilities <br /> 5.12 Standards for Extractive Uses <br /> 5.13 Standards for Agricultural Uses <br /> 5.14 Standards for Manufacturing, Assembly & Processing (to also be renamed) <br /> 5.15 Standards for Manufacturing, Assembly, Processing, and Distribution Uses — Other <br /> than Food (new section) <br /> 5.16 Standards for Automotive/Transportation Related Uses <br />
