2 <br /> ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> PROCLAMATION <br /> County Government Month - April 2019 <br /> "Connecting the Unconnected" <br /> WHEREAS, Orange County is one of 3,069 counties in the nation that provide cost- <br /> effective, essential services to create healthy, safe and vibrant communities; and <br /> WHEREAS, through National Association of Counties (NACo) President Greg Cox's <br /> "Connecting the Unconnected" initiative, NACo is demonstrating how counties deliver <br /> "people-centered" services to residents; and <br /> WHEREAS, many Orange County departments offer programs and services that meet this <br /> initiative, including the departments of Health, Housing and Community Development, <br /> Criminal Justice Resources, Social Services, Aging, Sheriff's Office, Child Support <br /> Services and many more; and <br /> WHEREAS, Orange County's motto is "Our Residents Come First," which guides our <br /> employees to treat all residents with fairness, respect and understanding; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT we, the Orange County Board of <br /> Commissioners, do hereby proclaim April 2019 as County Government Month and express <br /> our appreciation to the county employees who make our community such a special place to <br /> live, to work and to raise a family. <br /> This the 16t" day of April, 2019. <br /> Penny Rich, Chair <br /> Orange County Board of Commissioners <br />
