Ms. Grimm is also responsible for managing staffing for <br /> STEM Box engagements, and training staff for off-site STEM engagements. <br /> Danae Soler- Bilingual Community Outreach Assistant <br /> Kidzu's part-time Bilingual Community Outreach Assistant, Danae Soler, reports to the <br /> Community Programs Manager and Makery Manager. Ms. Soler works to build new <br /> multicultural partnerships and strengthen existing community partners. <br /> The Bilingual Community Outreach Assistant is responsible for the translation of <br /> outreach/program materials, guides, as well as being the lead translator at onsite <br /> community-wide programs including STEM Boxes, STEM Nights, Open Access Sundays, <br /> and Adaptive Play evenings. <br /> Volunteer Training <br /> Before assisting in community outreach efforts, Kidzu's Community Outreach Volunteers are <br /> required to undergo a 2-hour training session with the Community Program Manager, as <br /> well as a background check from Kidzu. Community Outreach Volunteers will leave the <br /> training session with strategies on how to manage behavior, how to engage children at <br /> off-site programs, how to share their enthusiasm for Kidzu and STEM education, and how to <br /> lead programs in a variety of outreach settings. Volunteers all receive on-going mentoring <br /> and feedback from Kidzu education staff during and after each outreach. <br /> h) Describe the specific period over which the activities will be carried out and include an <br /> implementation timeline. <br /> The 'Continuing Connections' program will operate from July 2018 through June 2019. The <br /> programs run during out-of-school time in the summer and school year. Access to Kidzu via <br /> day visitor passes will be year-round from July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019. See below for <br /> implementation timeline: <br /> Implementation Timeline: <br /> June, 2018: Summer enrichment and after school program curriculum plans finalized/ begin <br /> planning schedules with partner agencies/ orientation/training sessions for STEM Box <br /> volunteers. <br /> July, 2018: Human Services contract executed/ summer enrichment programs begin at <br /> Cedar Grove Community center and Efland Cheeks Community Center/press release <br /> distributed/ Fall activity lesson plans and outlines complete. <br /> August, 2018: Promote STEM nights and Open Access Sunday with partners/ finalize <br /> schedules and activity plans for out-of-school time programs <br /> September - December, 2018: STEM "museum in a box" programs launched/ promote and <br /> register students for school's out camps. <br />
