We have been the Designated County Partner (DCP) of the North <br /> Carolina Arts Council in Orange County since 1985 and are responsible for sub-granting state and <br /> county funds to arts organizations, schools and artists throughout the county. <br /> What are your Board/Commission's most important accomplishments? <br /> • Hosted annual Arts Grants Program. Thirty-eight, or 57%, of the 67 applications were funded. <br /> Of the funded applications, 32% were first-time applicants. Requested funding totaled <br /> $163,859, with $61,394 available for disbursement. <br /> • Served as ambassadors and panelists for the Emerging Artist Program, the Annual Piedmont <br /> Laureate Program, and the 4t" US Congressional District High School Art Competition. <br /> • Served as county lead for Arts Day 2018, gathering local arts supporters to advocate for public <br /> arts support through Arts North Carolina. <br /> • In partnership with the Hillsborough Arts Council, hosted 2nd Annual Paint it Orange: Plein Air <br /> Paint-out & Wet Paint Sale, as a fundraiser for OCAC and HAC drawing artists from four <br /> states. <br /> • Offered stories of local artists, arts spaces and events on artsorange.org through a partnership <br /> with Alicia Stemper/Vitamin O, as well as staff-generated content. <br /> • Coordinated "Arts Moments" to kick off each Board of County Commissioners meeting in 2018 <br /> featuring local writers. <br /> • In partnership with The ArtsCenter, hosted a three-day Racial Equity and the Arts workshop for <br /> leaders within the arts community. <br /> • Hosted "Monumental Voices" public art project in collaboration with UNC-Chapel Hill Arts <br /> Everywhere. <br /> • In partnership with the Chapel Hill Public Library and the Chapel Hill/Carrboro NAACP, hosted <br /> the Frederick Douglass Bicentennial Celebration by funding a free interpretive performance <br />
