Grout: Silicone: color matched to sill material. <br /> 2.3 STOOL FABRICATION <br /> A. General: Fabricate sill material in sizes and shapes required to comply with requirements indicated. <br /> B. Cut sill material to produce pieces of thickness, size, and shape indicated and to comply with fabrication and <br /> construction tolerances recommended by material source,for faces, edges, beds, and backs. <br /> C. Window sill stools: <br /> 1. Thickness: 3/4 inch <br /> 2. Edge Detail: Eased (Radius'/4 inch). <br /> 3. Dress joints(bed and vertical)straight and at right angle to face, unless otherwise indicated. <br /> 4. Cut sill material to produce joints of uniform width and in locations indicated. <br /> a. Joint Width: 1/8 inch. <br /> b. Provide uniform sealant joint between units and dissimilar materials. <br /> D. Finishes: Smooth, machine finish. <br /> E. Contiguous Work: Provide chases, reveals, reglets, openings, and similar features as required to accommodate <br /> contiguous work. <br /> F. Fabricate molded work to produce indicated shapes with a uniform profile throughout entire unit length and with <br /> precisely formed arris slightly eased to prevent snipping, and matched at joints between units. <br /> PART 3-EXECUTION <br /> 3.1 EXAMINATION <br /> A. Examine surfaces to receive window sill stools and conditions under which material will be installed, with Installer <br /> present, for compliance with requirements for installation tolerances and other conditions affecting performance of <br /> interior stone facing. <br /> 1. Do not proceed with installation until unsatisfactory conditions have been corrected. <br /> 3.2 SETTING, GENERAL <br /> A. Contiguous Work: Provide reveals and openings as required to accommodate contiguous work. <br /> 1. Keep expansion joints free of plaster, grout, and other rigid materials. <br /> B. Variation from Level: For lintels, sills, chair rails, horizontal bands, horizontal grooves, and other conspicuous lines, <br /> do not exceed 1/8 inch in 10 feet, 1/4 inch in 20 feet, or 3/8 inch maximum. <br /> C. Variation in Joint Width: Do not vary joint thickness more than 1/16 inch or one-fourth of nominal joint width, <br /> whichever is less. <br /> D. Seal joints after setting per Division 07, Section "Joint Protection." Use sealant and backer rod and sealant color <br /> selected by Architect to match units.Tool joints uniformly and smoothly with plastic tool. <br /> 3.3 PROTECTION <br /> A. Protect window sill stool surfaces, edges, and corners from construction damage. Use securely fastened untreated <br /> wood, plywood, or heavy cardboard to prevent damage where required by adjacent operations. <br /> B.
