Installation:Ashlar. <br /> 2.3 ACCESSORIES <br /> A. Carpet Edge Guards: <br /> 1. Metallic: White-zinc-alloy metal strips, 1/8 inch wide at top edge with integral provision for mechanical <br /> anchorage to mortar bed or substrate. <br /> B. Trowelable Leveling and Patching Compounds: Latex-modified, hydraulic-cement-based formulation provided by or <br /> recommended by carpet tile manufacturer. <br /> C. Adhesives: Pressure sensitive releasable adhesive that is water-resistant, mildew-resistant, non-staining type to <br /> suit products and subfloor conditions indicated, that complies with flammability requirements for installed carpet tile <br /> and that is recommended by carpet tile manufacturer. Must contain antimicrobial properties. <br /> D. Miscellaneous Materials: As recommended by manufacturers of carpet, and other carpeting products; selected by <br /> Installer and approved by the carpet manufacturer to meet project circumstances and requirements. <br /> E. Rubber Wall Base: Refer to Division 09, Section contained herein. <br /> PART 3-EXECUTION <br /> 3.1 EXAMINATION <br /> A. Examine substrates for moisture content and other conditions under which carpeting is to be installed. Notify <br /> contractor in writing of major conditions detrimental to proper completion of the work. Do not proceed until <br /> unsatisfactory conditions have been corrected. <br /> 3.2 PREPARATION <br /> A. Repair minor holes, cracks, depressions, and rough areas using material recommended by carpet or adhesive <br /> manufacturer. <br /> B. Clear away debris and scrape up cementitious deposits from surfaces to receive carpeting; vacuum clean <br /> immediately before installation. Check concrete surfaces to ensure no dusting through installed carpet; apply <br /> sealer where required to prevent dusting. <br /> 3.3 INSTALLATION <br /> A. Comply with manufacturer's recommendations and approved shop drawings for seam locations and direction of <br /> carpet; maintain uniformity of carpet location and lay of pile. Follow seaming diagram, which bears the Architects <br /> "Approved as Submitted"stamp. <br /> 1. At Doors: Center seams under doors; do not place seams in traffic direction at doorway. <br /> D. Notice: When moisture tests are too high and schedule demands installation the Contractor may use ReSource <br /> Barrier Coat or other Architect approved surface sealer warranted to stop up to 8 pounds of moisture/1000 sf/24 <br /> hours. <br /> E. Extend carpet under open-bottomed obstructions and under removable flanges and furnishings, and into alcoves <br /> and closets of each space. <br /> F. Provide cut-outs where required, and bind cut edges properly where not concealed by protective edge guards or <br /> overlapping flanges. <br /> G. Install carpet edge guard where edge of carpet is exposed; anchor guards to substrate. <br /> H.
