The drawings and provisions of the General Conditions, Supplementary Conditions, and the Sections included <br /> under Division 01, General Requirements, are included as a part of this Section as though bound herein. <br /> 1.2 SUMMARY <br /> A. Work of this section includes furnishing and installation of walkoff tile carpeting and accessories designated as Walk <br /> Off CPT. <br /> 1.3 DEFINITIONS <br /> A. Commercial Carpet: Carpet intended for use in commercial and public spaces, with construction, fire ratings, static <br /> control, and appearance appropriate for this use. <br /> 1.4 SUBMITTALS <br /> A. Product Data: Submit manufacturer's product literature and installation instructions for each type of carpeting <br /> material and installation accessory required. Include methods of installation for each type of substrate. <br /> 1. Submit written data (prepared by an independent test laboratory) describing physical characteristics, <br /> durability, resistance to fading and flame resistance characteristics. <br /> B. Samples for Initial Section Purposes: Submit manufacturer's standard size samples and color yarns showing full <br /> range of colors,textures and patterns available for each type of carpet required. <br /> C. Samples for Verification Purposes: Submit the following: <br /> 1. Carpet manufacturer's binder of samples of each type of carpet material required. <br /> D. Prepare samples from same dye lot to be used for the work. <br /> 1.5 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br /> A. Manufacturer Qualifications: Firm (material producer) with not less than 5 years of production experience, whose <br /> published literature clearly indicates general compliance of products with requirements of this section. <br /> B. Installer Qualifications: Firm specializing in carpet installation with not less than 5 years of experience in installation <br /> of carpeting similar to that required for this project. <br /> C. Single Source Responsibility: Provide material produced by a single manufacturer for each carpet type. <br /> 1.6 TESTING <br /> A. Test Reports: Submit certified test reports evidencing compliance with requirements for the following: <br /> 1. Fire performance characteristics. <br /> 2. Physical properties indicated. <br /> B. Fire Performance Characteristics: Provide carpeting that is identical to that tested for the following fire performance <br /> requirements, according to test method indicated, by UL. <br /> 1. Flammability: <br /> a. Rating: Passing; (DOC FF#1-70)Methenamine Pill Test. <br /> b. Test Method: ASTM D 2859. <br /> 2. Critical Radiant Flux: <br /> a. Rating: Not less than 0.45 watts per sq. centimeter. <br /> b. Test Method: ASTM E 648. <br /> 3. Smoke Density: <br /> a. Rating: 450 or less. <br /> b. Test Method: ASTM E 662. <br /> C. Physical Properties: Provide carpeting that is identical to that tested for the following physical properties, according <br /> to the test method indicated. <br /> 1. Fade Resistance: <br /> a. Rating: Maximum grey scale factor of 40 hours. <br /> b. Test Method: AATCC 16E. <br /> 2. Static Resistance: <br /> a. Rating: 3.5 kV when tested at 20% R.H/70 deg F. <br /> b.
